Boarding with Purpose

At Cobb Equestrian Center, boarding isn’t just a service — it’s a partnership in something bigger.

Our boarders become part of a living sanctuary where horses, people, and purpose meet. Every horse here helps sustain programs that bring healing and hope to others — from veterans and children to families seeking connection and calm.

Our philosophy is simple: when you board your horse at Perkerson Mill, you’re not only providing them with exceptional care — you’re also helping create access to equine-assisted services for people who might otherwise never experience the power of horses.

A Mission-Driven Approach

We call it “Boarding with Purpose” because each stall contributes directly to our nonprofit programs:

  • A portion of all boarding proceeds funds lessons and therapy sessions for underserved riders.

  • Shared facilities and arenas are designed to balance the needs of private boarders and therapeutic riders — creating a supportive, reflective, and respectful community.

  • Boarders are invited (but never required) to engage through volunteer days, educational clinics, and community events, deepening the sense of belonging that defines Perkerson Mill.

This partnership model allows us to care for horses and people in harmony — ensuring sustainability, equity, and purpose at every level.

Exceptional Care in a Peaceful Setting

Your horse’s wellbeing is our top priority.

Our 40-acre property — a mix of open pasture, shaded paddocks, and quiet forest edge — offers a natural, low-stress environment where horses can thrive.

Boarding Amenities Include:

  • 24–30 12’ x 12’, matted stalls with fans and automatic waterers

  • Daily turnout in large, cross-fenced pastures (rotational grazing system)

  • Quality alfalfa hay and individualized grain programs

  • On-site staff 7 days a week and overnight checks

  • Access to covered and outdoor arenas with professional footing

  • Secure tack rooms, wash racks, and laundry facilities

  • Veterinary and farrier coordination

  • Access to sensory and nature trails for leisure or conditioning rides

We maintain a peaceful, safety-focused environment where horses receive attentive care — and owners enjoy genuine community, not competition.

A Community of Care

Our boarders come from many walks of life — professionals, families, therapy partners, and lifelong riders — united by a shared belief in compassionate horsemanship. Many participate in our volunteer programs, offer mentorship to young riders, or simply lend support at events.

Together, we’ve created a barn culture built on respect, mindfulness, and mutual care — the kind of place where friendships form in the aisleway, and every horse is treated like family.
